My Child,
In life, it is unavoidable that you have several expectations that will not be met. Not only is the world imperfect, due to the fall in the Garden of Eden, but people are imperfect. Expectation is a form of hope, and it is good to hope for things. However, it can be very devastating when what you expect and hope for does not turn out your way. The key is to remember that expectations are a test. A test of your faith! You must learn not to react, but rather, to respond. Don’t react with your flesh but respond with your spirit. Everything in your life happens for a reason. Your unmet expectations are an opportunity for you to prove that you are spiritual, not fleshy. Fleshy people react badly to unmet expectations because they don’t have enough faith to believe that I am God even over those situations. But spiritual people respond with peace because they know that I, God, override closed doors, rejections, and unmet expectations.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, grace me to stay spiritual when my expectations are not met. Help me to remember that the circumstances and people in my life do not determine my destiny, but you do. They are not in control, You are!
